Supporting children in Woodbridge and the surrounding Vaughan area. I specialize in helping students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, develop and master reading, spelling and writing skills.
About the Tutor
I am a Reading Intervention teacher with over 25 years experience in teaching students in the Kindergarten, Primary and Junior grades. I am certified with the Ontario College of Teachers and am trained in Orton Gillingham, as well as the Science of Reading. I use a structured literacy and multi-sensory approach which is individualized to suit the unique needs of the individual student. The lessons are taught in a specific sequence, allowing the student to move from simple, mastered material to more and more complex material. Consistent review of concepts with a goal of mastery at each step ensures the student's success.

Tutoring Sessions
Sessions are 60 minutes in length for grades 2 and up and 30 min for Kindergarten to grade 1 students. The first session will include a diagnostic assessment with parent conference. It is strongly recommended for parents to share school documentation (report cards, IEP, etc.) so that I can obtain a comprehensive understanding of the student's areas of strengths and needs.
Geographical Location
I offer in person tutoring in the Woodbridge and surrounding areas.
Tutoring locations can be arranged at a local library. All materials will be provided by the tutor, with the exception of technology devices and wifi.
Policy and Fees
Each 60 min session fee is $50. Thirty minute sessions (for Kindergarten and grade 1 students only) are $40. Payment for sessions are due in advance or at time of services and can be made in cash or through e-transfer.
Please arrive on time and ensure that students are picked up promptly (no extra time will be given).
If an upcoming event arises that conflicts with your session time, please inform me as soon as possible so that your time slot can be offered to another client. We will reschedule the session within the same week.
